Jon has been begging to got to the zoo all summer, and all summer it has been too hot to go. This week there was a promise of showers and lower temperatures. We made plans to go on a day that the high was supposed to be 86. Turns out the storms didn't roll in till later than expected and we enjoyed the day with a high of 91. Not too bad for a summer day in July. We were hot, but it was bearable. The animals might not agree with that statement. Most of the animals were content to remain sleeping in the shade, but we did get a chance to see the crocodile feeding.
We went with Jon's best friend Jacob and his little brother Tyler. I found out later on in the day that it was Tyler's 3rd birthday. I hope he had fun celebrating by walking through a hot zoo!
The boys favorite part was when we spent 25 cents and let them feed the fish. I like the fact that they get so excited about even the little things.
This is our traditional picture by the elephant.
The bears were some of the few animals up and ready to play.
Finally a train ride back to the front of the zoo. Our legs were tired!
